Bryan Fury is a character in the Tekken fighting game series. Bryan first appeared in Tekken 3, and he has returned to all the other Tekken games after the third one.

Tekken 3Edit
Bryan Fury, an officer in the International Police Organization was killed in a shoot-out in Hong Kong.
Bryan's corpse was transported to the laboratory of a man named Doctor Abel. This 88-year-old scientist was fairly famous in the underground society, but his findings were often preceded by Doctor Boskonovitch's. However, at last, he came to the last step of completing his master project... the Cyborg Army. Dr. Abel thought that a perfect cyborg must have the mechanics built by his rival, Dr. Boskonovitch, so he reanimated Fury's body and sent him off to collect this data.
In his former life, Bryan was known as a skillful detective, but on the other side, he was always followed by dark rumors. Investigating the Hong Kong drug trade, Lei Wulong discovered that Fury had connections with drug dealers.
Bryan sneaks into the 'King of Iron Fist Tournament', targeting Yoshimitsu, who has strong ties with Boskonovitch.
Tekken 4 Edit
Bryan realizes his life is almost coming to an end, but knew the person who could help and that was his creator, Doctor Abel.
However, Dr. Abel had gotten rid of him 2 years ago when Heihachi and the Mishima Zaibatsu took him away. Bryan began despising them both as a result.
One day, Bryan heard news of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, and decided to enter. With this death being impending Bryan's body flowed with energy making him stronger than before. He develops an uncontrollable rage that manifests itself into his physical appearance.
Bryan stakes everything on one hope that if defeats Heihachi Mishima he would become Head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. If this all goes according to plan, Bryan would order Dr. Abel to change his body, thus becoming the most incredible being in existence once again.
Tekken 5Edit
Tekken 5 Manual:
Bryan Fury, a replicate created by Dr. Abel, entrusted himself to Dr. Boskonovitch to receive technological upgrades. Boskonovitch installed a perpetual power generator in the cyborg. Instead of thanking him, Bryan killed several people at the facility. Then he decided to enter the fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament, thinking it as the perfect test for his newly installed generator.
Official Version:
In order to receive technological upgrades to his cybernetic body, Bryan entrusted himself to Doctor Boskonovitch and drifted into a deep sleep.
Upon regaining consciousness, Bryan realized that his body remained unchanged. Dr. Boskonovitch explained that Bryan's body contained many complex mechanisms that would require more time to be fully understood, but he was able to install a perpetual power generator as an emergency measure.
"Perpetual power generator?... Incredible." Bryan exulted.
Bryan shoved Dr. Boskonovitch out of the way as he headed for the door. Several members of the Manji Clan tried to stop him, but they got sent sprawling to the ground as Bryan left the secret base behind him.
A few days later, Bryan learns that The King of Iron Fist Tournament Five will be held. Bryan decides to enter, thinking it as the perfect test for his newly installed perpetual power generator.
Tekken 6 Edit
After getting his hands on a perpetual generator, Bryan Fury decided to join The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 for the purpose of testing its efficiency. However, Yoshimitsu's repeated meddling hindered his tests and hopes of unlocking its ultimate power, greatly frustrating Bryan. Soon afterwards, Bryan began destroying everything in sight.
Driven by rage, he joined various battlefields the world over, reducing this and that to rubble. However, he soon grew tired of the sameness of it all.
Around this time, he caught wind of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6's announcement. Feeling it was better suited for his frenzied appetite, he headed in its direction.

Tekken Movie (2010)Edit
In the 2010 live action movie Bryan Fury is portrayed by Gary Daniels. He is depicted as a man who has had cybernetic upgrades. He is blackmailed by Kazuya Mishima into killing Jin to keep his cybernetic upgrades a secret. After Kazuya changes the rules of the tournament making it so that the competitors are forced to kill each other in order to win, Bryan is pitted against Sergei Dragunov. Dragunov, despite putting up a valiant effort, is ultimately killed when Bryan strangles and eventually slits his throat with a spiked chain. He later fights Jin Kazama and although he has the upper hand through most of the fight, Jin flashes back to his mother's training and follows her advice by exploiting Bryan's weak spots. Bryan is defeated and killed by Jin.
Also, prior to his death, Bryan held the title as the 'current' King of Iron Fist Tournament.
Street Fighter X TekkenEdit
Bryan appeared in the non-canon crossover game, Street Fighter X Tekken, as a playable character. His tag partner is a Jack robot exclusive to the game known as "Jack X".
Tekken Tag Tournament 2Edit
Bryan returned in the sequel, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as a playable character.
Character Relationships Edit
- Doctor Abel - He reanimated and cybernetically enchanced Bryan just before the events of Tekken 3. However, before Tekken 4, Bryan injured/killed him.
- Lei Wulong - His rival, Lei is trying to arrest Bryan for the murders of Manji Clan members and other crimes.
- Doctor Boskonovitch - Yoshimitsu found Bryan unconscious and bought him to Bosconovitch.
- Yoshimitsu - His archenemy. Bryan was actually rescued by Yoshimitsu in Tekken 4, but becomes Yoshimitsu's worst nemesis in Tekken 5, ever since he killed many members of the Manji Clan and injured Doctor Boskonovitch.
- Paul Phoenix - His possible rival in Tekken 6.
- Jin Kazama - Bryan thanked Jin for starting the war in Tekken 6, he was also defeated and killed by Jin in the 2010 live action movie (non-canon).
- Alisa Bosconovitch - Alisa hates Bryan for attacking her creator, Doctor Boskonovitch.
- Heihachi Mishima - One of Bryan's bosses in the Tekken Force mode.
- Kazuya Mishima - Kazuya blackmailed Bryan into killing Jin in the 2010 film (non-canon).
- Sergei Dragunov - Bryan killed him in the 2010 film (non-canon).
- Jack - His rival in Tekken Card Challenge and tag partner in Street Fighter X Tekken (non-canon).
TriviaEdit
- Bryan's looks and overall storyline share similarities to that of Blade Runner character Roy Batty as portrayed by Rutger Hauer.
- Bryan Fury will laugh whenever specific moves are performed on him, e.g. Volcano Blaster or Nina Williams's Bad Habit.
- Bryan Fury's senseless beating winpose does not work on the animals, because it portrays animal cruelty.
- In Street Fighter X Tekken, Yoshimitsu's Japanese voice actor, Tomokazu Seki also voices Bryan in the game. Another fact is while Bryan's voice is set in Japanese, his laugh sounds similar to Type-Moon's Fate series' Gilgamesh.
- Bryan Fury replaced Bruce Irvin, so they share many similarities, such as moves, a single win animation (which Bryan no longer has from Tekken 4 and onwards), and an involvement with and hatred of Lei Wulong. Despite these facts, there is no confirmed relationship between the two in the storyline.
- Bryan is unlocked after beating the game two times.
- Bryan Fury's bosses in the Tekken Force side game are (in order of appearance) Lei Wulong, Gun Jack, Yoshimitsu, and Heihachi Mishima.
- Bryan Fury's storyline is similar to Jean-Claude Van Damme's Universal Soldier where the two soldiers Luc Deveraux and Andrew Scott kill each other; They are later brought back to life as zombie soldiers. In the events of Tekken 3, Bryan Fury is killed by drug leaders and is brought back to life as a cyborg.
- Bryan's rivals are Gun Jack, Yoshimitsu and Lei Wulong.
- Bryan Fury is playable after beating the game five times, or as soon as you complete Story Mode with Yoshimitsu.

- In the "Power is Everything" trailer for Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, Bryan is shown fighting Paul Phoenix.
- In Bloodline Rebellion, he can be customized in a unique outfit and his Item Move is a Portable Gun Turret.
- In the Scenario Campaign of Tekken 6, Bryan is seen following Lars and Alisa after the invasion of the lab, he is a boss in the Southern Woodlands.
