Acid-rain

Acid Rain is a stage in Tekken 5.

Description

Acid rain is falling in the area of the arena, hence the stage name. The fight takes place on a rooftop with barred, illuminated skylights visible on the ground and a metal fence surrounding the arena, while buildings can be seen in the background.

A huge animated robot lobster can be seen higher up on the side of one building with a glowing crescent moon visible nearby. Behind a fence, you can see a statue of Japanese folklore monster called Kappa. People can also be seen walking on a bridge nearby.

This stage seems to be set in South Korea, evidenced by many signs written in Hangul. However, many signs written in Chinese characters (used in both Chinese and Japanese) are seen as well, along with some characters unique to Japanese (like the hiragana の, meaning "of", seen in the moving text LED display) and possibly even some completely made up characters.

The characters who have interludes in this stage are:

Background Music

The BGM is titled "Streets" and "Street Wise (Asura Mix)". The latter plays only during Story Mode.

Trivia

  • This is possibly Lei Wulong's stage. The stage's design is reminiscent of his Tekken 2, Tekken 3, and Tekken Tag Tournament stages.
    • Lei's Tekken 7 trailer even used the BGM of the TK5DR version of this stage.
  • This stage is the only stage in Tekken 5 with two background songs, which changes depending on the mode; the "Street Wise (Asura Mix)" can only be heard during Story mode while "Streets" appears on other modes.
  • When one of the fighters hits the duck statue, the duck statue's head will change position.
  • This stage is the counterpart to Festival in Dark Resurrection.
  • The signs on the poles read in Japanese kanji as: "本町一丁目, Honmachi 1-chome", which seems to follow the conventions of the Japanese addressing system, where Honmachi (本町) is the name of the town or ward and 1-chome (一丁目) means district number 1 (district 1 of Honmachi).
