Salim (サリーム Sari-mu?) is a minor character in the Tekken series. He is the childhood friend and employer of Shaheen and was killed by Kazuya Mishima's G Corporation prior to the events of Tekken 7.
Personality[]
Salim was described as 'bright and full of knowledge'. He and Shaheen had a mutual respect for one another and were dedicated to their principles, including protecting the wealth and pride of others. Salim's brother, Zarif, believes that Salim was killed for standing up to G Corporation's tyranny and refusing to grant them access to his company's oil.
Story[]
Salim came from a wealthy and prominent family in Saudi Arabia, where he was cherished by his family. He had one younger brother Zarif, who is also dedicated to him.
One day, thirteen years ago, Salim was the target of an assassination attempt. He was saved by a boy his own age who had been trained in fighting. This was his first meeting with Shaheen. Salim took Shaheen's hands and told him "You should use such skills to become a shield for those in need." He welcomed Shaheen as a bodyguard for him. Salim's family, delighted that Shaheen had saved their son, were happy to take him under their wing.
Later, the two friends went their separate ways, though both were dedicated to protecting the wealth and pride of others. Salim became the head of an oil company, and Shaheen a private military specialist.[1]
One day, Salim died under mysterious circumstances. The death was recorded as accidental, but Shaheen suspected foul play. Shortly after Salim's death, his oil company was taken over by G Corporation, and many of Salim's relatives working in the company were forced to step down. Shaheen learned from an executive in the Middle Eastern branch of G Corp, that Kazuya Mishima, the CEO of G Corporation was responsible for having Salim murdered after he resisted G Corporation.[2]
Salim is survived by his brother, who handed Shaheen the family's treasured blade, and told him "I want you to finish what my brother could not."[1]
