Tekken: Tatakai no Kanatani (鉄拳:闘いの彼方に? lit. "Iron Fist: The Other Side of Battle") is a manga written by Keiichi Suzuki and published by Shogakukan. Two volumes were published, the first on December 1, 2000 and the second on April 1, 2001.

The story in the comic takes place between the events of Tekken 2 and Tekken 3. Naturally, the storyline is not canon.

Synopsis[]

Volume 1[]

At the Mishima National College of Technology in the suburbs of Tokyo. It is a technical college created by Mishima Zaibatsu to train engineers within five years. However, as the statue of Heihachi Mishima in the schoolyard illustrates, the school is full of many mysteries.

An international student named Hwoarang goes there in search of a strong person using Mishima style karate. He meets Jin Kazama and challenges him to a fight. However, Jin replies, "I have nothing to do with the Mishima family."

Volume 2[]

The 3rd King of Iron Fist Tournament has finally been decided to be held. The news spread all over the world, and many fierce competitors give their names. For Money, honor, revenge, quests... Contestants go to the battlefield with their own purposes. Among them are Hwoarang, Ling Xiaoyu and Jin, as well as Chinese martial arts master Forest Law and world-famous fighter Paul Phoenix. Jin's first round battle is against Bryan Fury. He is a master American detective in kickboxing. [1]
