Tekken Wiki

Ling Xiaoyu is a Chinese teenager with dark brown eyes and black hair tied in two high pigtails. She is also a student at Mishima High School in Japan. As such, her outfits have a dominant Chinese-oriental theme, and her Mishima High School uniform has been a staple outfit ever since her debut.

In games such as Tekken 5 and Tekken 6, her outfits and equipment follow a similar theme, with her being able to equip more casual items like cellphones, roller skates, bunny tail accessories, a backpack, and a skateboard. She can also wear different hairstyles like a Chinese twin chignon and a ponytail.

Her hairstyle has changed throughout the series; In her debut, her default outfit has her wear high, short pigtails with side-parted bangs. Her alternate outfit lowers her pigtails slightly. From Tekken 4 to Tekken Tag Tournament 2, her pigtails from her alternate costume in Tekken 3 become her staple hairstyle with the only main change being her hair color and the color of the hair bangles she wears, which often match her arm bangles, however she can also wear ribbons. In Tekken 7, she is given a new hairstyle: she wears her pigtails lower, and she replaces the hair bangles with flower hair accessories. Her fringe is also adjusted to have somewhat long, wispy sidelocks that frame her face. Her fringe, as well as the ends of her pigtails, have been made more curled, similar to singlets.

In Tekken 8, her hairstyle is somewhat similar to her Tekken 7 redesign, but her pigtails are now more detailed and more tightly curled, and her fringe is altered to be closer to how it previously looked before Tekken 7, with it being parted to the opposite side. Her hair flower accessories are also replaced with orange hair ties with a feather motif.

Tekken 3[]

Ling Xiaoyu made her debut, as well as being one of the six characters to have three different outfits; only Forest Law, Jin, Eddy, Gun Jack, Anna and Xiaoyu have a third outfit. This third outfit is unlocked by playing as Xiaoyu fifty times and then selecting her with either the "Start" button or the "Triangle" button.

  • Xiaoyu wears this outfit in the ending of her ending cutscene.
