Katarina Alves (カタリーナ・アウヴェス Katarīna Auvesu?) is a character in the Tekken series who is introduced in the upcoming Tekken 7 as one of the new characters.

Personality
From what is known so far, Katarina is stated to be a "sassy mouthed and vocal" talker due to her past losing her parents. However, she show some respect towards her adoptive father, who recently disappeared and became of G Corporation's brainwashed mutated human, Gigas.
Story
Tekken 7
Katarina Alves lost both her parents at a young age, and spent several years at an orphanage before being adopted by a man she'd never met. Initially, Katarina rebelled against him using a whole manner of profane language, but the man's kindness and patience eventually wore her hard exterior down. In time, they grew close, though her penchant for profane language remained. One day, Katarina's adoptive father vanished. As much as she wanted to find him, she lacked the money to do so. But then she learned of the King of Iron Fist Tournament.
The savate techniques the man had taught her gave Katarina hope that she could win and take the cash prize. The day of the first match arrived, and the arena was none other than the roof of G Corporation's Millennium Tower.
When Katarina first laid eyes on her opponent, all she saw was an enormous hulk of muscle. There was no way he could be human...
Ending Description: Katarina finally defeats Gigas in battle as she quickly removes her brown framed sunglasses to face Gigas who easily noticed Katarina's presence. When it was raining, one of the G Corporation soldiers manages to shoot her but it grazed her shoulder. When she is about to be gunned down by one of the G Corporation soldier, Gigas defends her by blocking most of the soldier's rapid fire much to her surprise as he tackles the soldier down and plummet into the edge below. Katarina finally realizes that enormous hulk of muscle who defends her was actually her missing adoptive father.
Gameplay
From the information known so far, Katarina is a "beginner friendly" character in terms of gameplay.
Fighting Style
Katarina fights using Savate, the French variant on kickboxing. Savate translates to "old shoe", as practitioners are allowed to wear shoes during a kickboxing match. Savate focuses primarily on foot kicking techniques that require great flexibility, whilst utilizing punching combinations and other techniques as a sidenote. Unlike other kickboxing styles like Muay Thai, Savate is mostly foot-orientated and is not known for its knee attacks. A popular move for Savate is the chasse bas, in which a practitioner drives his/her foot into the opponents upper leg, causing the most damage by impacting the kick with their heel.
